I am in the process of self-producing my debut album. There's still a lot of work to be done. There are still several hours of studio time needed, as well as needing funds to finish the mastering, CD pressing and artwork. How much do you need to raise? Why?
Great question! Here are some of the expenses you'll be helping me cope with:
* Studio Time: around $3000
* Final artwork: around $300 to $500
* Mastering (kind of like a final polished mixdown): around $500
* CD Pressing: around $2000 for 1000 CDs in color Digipaks with lyric booklets
Plus, any amounts that aren't used for CD production will go towards promoting the album, like, printing posters, mailing CDs to radio stations, etc. Your contribution not only helps get the album done, but also out.
When will I get my CD and other stuff?
It really depends on how quickly I can raise the funds. If everything goes well, you'll have your goodies prior to the "official" release date. However, if donations are slow, it may be a few more months before I can finish the project.
Do I need a Paypal account to donate?
Nope! Paypal will process your credit card just fine, no need to sign up with them.
